Joint event
"Euromech Colloquium on Data-Driven Fluid Dynamics"
&
"2nd ERCOFTAC Workshop on Machine Learning for Fluid Dynamics"

We are thrilled to invite you to join us in London, UK, from the 2nd to the 4th of April 2025 for the first EuroMech/ERCOFTAC joint conference bringing together communities from the Fluid Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, and Machine Learning. We will be gathering at the historic Mary Ward House, 5-7 Tavistock Place, London, WC1H 9SN.

We are excited to welcome our keynote speakers :

  • Prof. Mark Girolami , Chief Scientist of The Alan Turing Institute and Professor at Cambridge University, who will kick off the conference,
  • Prof. Steven Brunton , James B. Morrison Endowed Career Development Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington,
  • Prof. Petros Koumoutsakos , Herbert S. Winokur, Jr. Professor of Computing in Science and Engineering at Harvard University,
  • Prof. Beverley McKeon , Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University.

Additionally, a panel discussion chaired by Dr. Neil Ashton (NVIDIA, Distinguished CAE Product Architect) will further enrich the event.

This conference will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  1. Physics-aware machine learning;
  2. Data assimilation;
  3. Model discovery;
  4. Reduced-order modelling;
  5. Scientific machine learning;
  6. Digital twins;
  7. Turbulence modelling;
  8. Flow control;
  9. …and more.

We look forward to seeing your work presented in London.

Selected talks will be invited to submit a journal paper to special issues of Data-Centric Engineering (Cambridge University Press), and Flow, Turbulence and Combustion (Springer), based on their alignment with the journal scopes. All submissions will go through peer review process according to each journal's guidelines.

Due to organisational constraints that arose, we will be unable to broadcast the conference online. Therefore, the conference will be an in-person only event.
